This Sunday our five-week Season of Creation draws to a close with a commemoration of Francis of Assisi (Oct. 4) and our annual blessing of animals.
At St. Luke’s we invite all the dogs and cats and rabbits and guinea pigs (leashed and/or caged, as appropriate) into the sanctuary with us to share in our worship. It may sound crazy, but in our limited experience the animals are at least as well behaved as the people!
If your pet would experience being confined to a room filled with unfamiliar animals and their scents to be more of a curse than a blessing; if your pet is ill or can’t get to worship; or if you are grieving the loss of a beloved pet, consider bringing a photo, a chew toy, or some other tangible symbol of that animal’s presence in your life to be blessed in their stead.
We will have treats, water, and cleaning supplies on hand to make you and your pet more comfortable throughout the worship service. Got questions? Contact Pastor Erik.
