Get Connected
We gather in community outside of worship in a delightful variety of settings. There are opportunities to connect with one another through service, advocacy, education, friendship, and more.
Use the tool below to explore the ways that you might like to connect. To see the widest range of groups, leave the drop-down menus at their default and simply click “Search.” Or, you can narrow your search using one or more criteria. You can also check out the Calendar page to see some events coming up soon.
As needs and interests change, our community changes too! In addition to those listed here, we encourage each other to organize new groups and to keep on connecting.

Eco Justice
Leader: Claire Schoepp
The Eco-Justice Campaign is underway from October through December. Beginning with the Season of Creation, we, as the St. Luke's community, are asking one another how we can love God and serve our neighbors by caring for Creation. This social justice campaign focuses on 3 things: education, advocacy, and service. There will be testimonies given, guest presenters and speakers, service projects, and we will be raising money for two organizations: Faith in Place, and Earth Justice. |

Epiphany Dinners
Leader: Claire Schoepp
St. Luke's celebrates the close of the Christmas season with sharing meals together in members homes. This year, we're spreading this across a few weeks to allow Pastor Erin to attend each dinner. We'll pair up hosts and members to share a meal. It's a great opportunity to get to know one another a little deeper, offer/receive hospitality (both ministries), and grow as a community. There's no agenda other than to have a meal with people from St. Luke's. Come eat! But really, how does it work? Join the group to find out! |

Game Nights | Varies | Evening | Activity | St. Luke's Lutheran Church | |
Game Nights
Leader: Reed Fowler
This is a gathering for community both within St. Luke's and our non-Church friends. We meet monthly in someone's home, and play traditional board games (such as Settlers of Catan, Code Names, Munchkin, etc), alongside snacks and fellowship. Our main communication is through a Facebook group, as not everyone is on CCB or Church affiliated, and this platform doesn't do outside invitations well yet. Message any of the leaders to get connected! |

Housing Justice
Leader: Erin Coleman Branchaud
Working with our partners in the Logan Square Ecumenical Alliance, Logan Square Neighborhood Association, Chicago Housing Initiative, and the Lathrop Leadership Team, St. Luke's has been part of the effort to preserve affordable and public housing in our community as gentrification makes the neighborhood increasingly unaffordable for many long-time residents. Join us in standing with our neighbors! |

Logan Square Ecumenical Alliance | Varies | Varies | Serving | Logan Square / Humboldt Park | St. Luke's Lutheran Church |
Logan Square Ecumenical Alliance
Leader: Erin Coleman Branchaud
The Logan Square Ecumenical Alliance (LSEA) is an organization of local congregations and mission-aligned non-profits that work together for the good of our neighborhood. In recent years our work has focused particularly on public and affordable housing in our community, as gentrification forces more and more long-time residents out of Logan Square and the surrounding area. The LSEA's signature annual events include #OccupyPalmSunday and Las Posadas for Public and Affordable Housing. This group serves as the site for organizing and communication about the LSEA within St. Luke's, not the entire membership across all congregations. |

Table Talk
Leader: Megan Moran
Table Talk is an all-gender, all-ages discussion group. We are community-led, with everyone welcome (and encouraged!) to lead! Our focus is on the intersection of faith and contemporary justice issues, facilitated through open-ended questions, news articles, and scripture. Our gatherings are stand-alone, so come to one or many as you are able! Table Talk is held on Saturdays, 11:30 am to 1:30 pm and hosted in members' homes. All are welcome to bring a snack/brunch item or beverage to share. Contact Megan Moran (meganmoran23@gmail.com) or Charlotte Flynn (charlotte.flynn@gmail.com) with questions. St. Luke's transforms lives through small groups that are designed to foster growth in faith and build community. In addition to CCB communication, Table Talk utilizes a group text that you can be added to for more immediate information. Theme Archive: |

The Village
Leader: Erin Coleman Branchaud
According to the oft-quoted, hard-to-attribute proverb, "It takes a village to raise a child." It's been a delight to see the number of children at St. Luke's growing each year, and this group is offered as a place for parents of young children to come together to share thoughts, plan events, coordinate play dates, and whatever else might be needed! |

W4: Women's Weekly Wine & Word | Thursday | Evening | Small Group | Logan Square / Humboldt Park | St. Luke's Lutheran Church |
W4: Women's Weekly Wine & Word
Leader: Mary Margaret Morris
We strive to create safe spaces for women of all backgrounds to engage in spiritual conversations and faith formation at our monthly discussion events. We meet on the fourth Thursday of the month from 7-8:30 in members' homes to discuss the week's sermon and Scripture, connecting the sermon's lessons to our daily lives. We look forward to continuing to build our community for women at St. Luke's and offer relationships and support for those who would like to explore what it means to be a woman of faith in 2019. |

Welcome & Hospitality
Leader: Erin Coleman Branchaud
St. Luke's is literally a community with a window facing out into the world. We fully expect visitors to join us for worship or at weekday events, and we want to be prepared to welcome people with the materials and information they need to participate with ease and confidence. This group is a gathering place for members of the congregation who want to lend their gifts and talents to the work of being and becoming a welcoming church. |
