Join the Community Renewal Society for celebration, worship, music, the launching of the 50th Anniversary of the Chicago Freedom Movement, and more…at the Annual Membership Assembly.
In partnership with the Logan Square Ecumenical Alliance, Community Renewal Society is offering a 2-part training for congregational “faith-in-action” teams to learn more about faith-based justice advocacy in order to build power and make lasting change in the lives of our neighbors.
This year’s assembly will blend public prayer and historical witness to Dr. King’s legacy with conversations with city decision makers and a mayoral candidate forum on jobs and public safety. Our attendance at this event will help ensure that community voices are heard by elected officials like Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle, and will build power and momentum toward campaigns to prevent violence, fund public education and create jobs.
Faith in Action! Join with other members of the St. Luke’s community and the dozens of other Chicago-area churches with whom we participate in the Community Renewal Society as we go to Springfield on April 24 to meet with state legislators.
