We’ve been talking all summer about our Location Transition from our storefront space on Armitage Ave. to Grace United Methodist Church’s building at Wrightwood and Kimball. Council remains excited about the possibilities for collaborative, engaging ministry in partnership with Grace. Over the last few weeks, a working group led by Peter Wilhelm and Sara Spoonheim Amit met to discern what financial arrangement with Grace would make the most sense for St. Luke’s at this time…
As usual, St. Luke’s will be busy over the next few months. We will bid farewell to Transitional Pastor Brooke and welcome Pastor Erin. We will focus on “Growing in Generosity” in November, and celebrate Advent and Christmas in December.
The interim space working group is pleased to announce St. Luke’s has secured a year long lease…
The interim space survey results are in! We had a good number of responses that allowed the interim space committee to get a sense of the congregation’s desires and hopes for our next space are.
St. Luke’s is hosting a potluck on Sept. 13th for our “Telling Our Story” workshop after service. We will be sharing our own stories of starting something new, and what “treasures” we can bring with us to the new worship space. The W4 (Women’s Weekly Wine & Word) group is hosting the potluck, and will provide the main dish.
We need boxes. We need volunteers.
September 4, 2015 The closing process is moving along well between St. Luke’s and New Community. All surveys and inspections have passed and the attorney review is near completion. Closing documents are being drawn up and we have agreed on a closing date of October 1st. Our last worship service will be Sunday the 25th
The interim space working group will meet again on Wednesday, August 12th at 7:00 pm at St. Luke’s. All are welcome!
To mark St. Luke’s transition out of this building into a new space, we are establishing three short term working groups to help celebrate and honor this important time in our journey together. These working groups are an excellent way for members new and long-time to contribute a small amount of energy at a time when we need all hands on deck. Please consider participating in one of these projects.
