"Stories not only teach us how to act -- they inspire us to act.  Stories communicate our values through the language of the heart, our emotions. And it is what we feel -- our hopes, our cares, our obligations -- not simply what we know, that can inspire us with the courage to act."  -- Marshall Ganz

In Christian community we call these kind of stories about our values that inspire others to action "testimony." Testimony can be verbal or written, in person on on video, prepared or spur-of-the-moment.  Join St. Luke's members and friends at a special workshop to revisit this concept that may be challenging for some Christians and to develop a version of your own testimony."Testimony: Talking Ourselves into Being Christian" by Tom LongWe will reference Marshall Ganz's public storytelling framework for community organizers, as well as Tom Long's book, "Testimony: Talking Ourselves into Being Christian" (San Francisco: Jossey-Bass, 2004), that the worship committee has been reading.Space is limited, so please sign up on the bulletin board or with the church office (office@stlukesLS.org) as soon as possible.  See Katie Baxter (katie.b.baxter@gmail.com) for more information.Christian Testimony -- Making our Faith PublicSaturday, September 28, 2013  +  9am-12pmALSO Conference Room (2401 W.
