The Volunteer Lay Chaplain's Training Program

This thirteen-week program is designed to give lay person an opportunity to develop skills so that the pastoral ministry within a congregation might reach its fullest potential.

In today's world, caring for community is a shared ministry. This class is open to members of all faith traditions, having its origins in the Episcopal Church, and now joining with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

To be a Volunteer Chaplain means that a person is trained to share the responsibility of caring for the elderly, the homebound, those in hospitals, persons with disabilities, the homeless, the hungry, those with catastrophic illnesses, the dying and those under stress, all under the supervision of a Rector/Pastor or Professional Chaplain.ImageImageImageImageImage
