Kristina Nicole Heise was baptized and confirmed at Divinity Lutheran Church in Parma Heights, Ohio. She completed the bulk of her undergraduate studies at Cleveland State University before transferring to Ashford University, where she obtained a Bachelors in Social Science. Tina was working towards a degree in Library Science when she became employed at Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Cleveland. Serving as Pilgrim’s Director of Church Operations helped her recognize God’s call to Word and Sacrament Ministry. She soon enrolled at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago for her Masters of Divinity.Tina received a Congregational Fellowship in 2011 from the Forum for Theological Education and is a member of the Academy of Preachers. Through these experiences, several of her sermons have been published in compilation books including Uncommon Sense: Jesus and the Renewal of the World (Chalice Press, 2012), Gospel in the City (Chalice Press, 2013), and The Nine Marks of a Good Sermon (Parsons Porch, 2015). She has been featured in several interviews with Rev. Peter Wallace on Day 1. She served as Registry Chaplain for the University of Chicago Medical Center.During her first two years of seminary, Tina served as Administrative Assistant for St. Luke’s Lutheran Church of Logan Square in Chicago, Illinois. This experience gave her a new understanding of parish ministry, one in which the congregation builds deep, intentional relationships with the neighborhood in which it resides. Her internship at Bethel Lutheran in St. Louis, Missouri and her role as Ministry Coordinator for Gloria Dei Lutheran church in Northbrook, Illinois, helped her to understand the importance of small group ministry when building such relationships. Tina looks forward to building new relationships and small group ministries as she serves as Pastor for St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Pittsburg, Ohio.

Sarah has been called as Pastor of St. James Lutheran Church in Youngstown, PA.

Sarah grew up in the mountains of northwest Georgia before attending St. Olaf college where she studied art history and Spanish. After college she served as a Young Adult in Global Mission in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Returning to the United States, she moved to Washington, DC for a year of Lutheran Volunteer Corps and another year of working for Lutheran Social Services before coming to Chicago for seminary. Some of her favorite classes in seminary centered on pastoral care and the craft of worship. So in 2012 when she came to St. Luke's, most of her projects centered on creative worship opportunities like the first dinner church vespers during Lent of 2013.
