"In Witness of Peace"
Speak Peace, Live PeaceThe Council of Religious Leaders of Metropolitan Chicago is inviting everyone to join the annual interfaith gathering "In Witness of Peace" on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 12pm - 1pm at Daley Plaza (50 W. Washington St.) in downtown Chicago. With all of the violence and tragedy in our world, this observance is a great opportunity for people of all faith communities to come together and offer prayers for greater peace and love in our world. The program will also include prayers for peace from the many religious traditions represented on the Council of Religious Leaders. The Council of Religious Leaders of Metropolitan Chicago (CRLMC) is a non-profit organisation comprised of the leaders of practically every major religious tradition in the greater Chicago area, representing nearly six million people. Through its work, the CRLMC speaks with a unified moral voice on issues of the day; creates a climate of better interfaith understanding and cooperation; and, participates in programs which advance its work. CRLMC was founded in 1984 when racial tensions and social injustices were on the rise. During this time a group of religious leaders in Chicago recognized the growing need to understand cultural and religious differences and learn how to work together. For more information on the CRLMC, visit www.crlmc.org
