Spirited Work: An Introduction to Vocational Discernment

spirited-workThank you to everyone who expressed interest in the 1-day retreat on vocational discernment that was initially scheduled for this past Saturday, September 24th and for the many words of support and condolence offered to Pastor Erik and Kerry as they traveled to attend a family funeral in Mississippi.Thank you as well to all those who expressed on-going interest in this program and filled out the online scheduling poll to help us find a new date. While we'd originally planned to offer the rescheduled workshop on a few dates, after looking at the poll a clear preference for a single date emerged. With that information in hand, we have been able to reschedule the first half of what would have been a day-long retreat as a 2-hour introductory workshop titled, "Spirited Work: An Introduction to Vocational Discernment."This workshop will be held at St. Luke's on Tuesday, October 11 from 7-9pm and will introduce the overarching theme of the subsequent series on vocational discernment using the principles and practices of the Circle of Trust method pioneered by Dr. Parker Palmer and The Center for Courage & Renewal.Participation in this introductory workshop does not indicate a commitment to continue on with the full 9-month series. "The Work of Love" will then be the first in the 9-part monthly series which will operate as a set of small groups with consistent membership, each small group having a different facilitator. To register for "Spirited Work: An Introduction to Vocational Discernment" on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 from 7-9pm at St. Luke's, click here. This project is funded by a generous grant from the Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE), which allows us to make it free to all participants. If you have further questions, please contact Pastor Erik.
