In Good Company | Midweek Worship in Time after Epiphany
Midweek Worship continues in January and February on Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m.In these weeks, called Time after Epiphany on the church calendar, Sunday morning worship focuses on God's light, on baptism, and on the life of discipleship. On Thursdays, we will deepen this focus by looking each week at different saints throughout history - siblings to us in baptism whose lives have shone God's light through their faithful discipleship. In the mystery of the communion of saints, these holy ones are not far off, but surround us always as a "great cloud of witnesses" in our own lives of discipleship (Heb 12:1).Join us for song, silence, word, and testimony as we worship God in good company: together with Japanese martyrs and Egyptian monks; with a Lutheran deaconesses and an American Baptist minister; with teachers, missionaries, and people of faith from all times and places.Jan 12 | Martin Luther King Jr. (1929-1968), renewer of society, martyrJan 19 | Antony of Egypt (251-356) and Pachomius (290-346), renewers of the churchJan 26 | Lydia, Dorcas, and Phoebe, witnesses to the faithFeb 2 | Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274), teacherFeb 9 | The Martyrs of Japan (1597)Feb 16 | Cyril (825-869), monk, and Methodius (815-884), bishop; missionaries to the SlavsFeb 23 | Elizabeth Fedde (1850-1921), deaconess
