Testimony in Lent

During the season of Lent, we are drawing nearer to community, to God and to creation.

We are inviting St. Luke’s to share testimony in worship around the theme Fasting from individualism, Feasting on community.

Do you have a true story from your own life to share this Lent, about the ways that individualism has pushed you away from God, other people, or creation?

How did self-sufficiency or a “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” narrative show up in your life? How has that affected you?

Or, maybe you have a story about a time that you really felt connected. How has your experience of community mended your places of brokenness, isolation, or pain?

When did you experience the power of interdependence, trusting and counting on other people? How has that affected you?

If you are interested in sharing your story, please contact Pastor Erin (pastorerin@stlukesLS.org) or SommerAnn McCullough (sommerann.m@gmail.com). We’ll listen deeply, ask open questions, and work with you to craft your story for worship.
