We're Hiring!

The gifts Christ gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ…Ephesians 4:11-12

In recent years, children’s ministry at St. Luke’s has been staffed by a few excellent and dedicated volunteer Sunday school teachers. Now that the number of children at St. Luke’s is growing, we have an opportunity to invest in the deepening of our children’s ministry, above and beyond excellent Sunday school. So...

We're excited to announce that we're hiring a part-time Children's Minister!

The Children’s Minister position is conceived as an extension of the pastoral staff of St. Luke’s. The relational ministry that we do together as adults - getting to know one another, building trust, inviting each other to take risks and practice our faith more boldly, gaining confidence and growing - we want to do just as powerfully in our ministry with children and youth.

Is it not right that every Christian person know the entire holy gospel by the age of nine or ten? Do they not derive their name and their life from the gospel?Martin Luther

The Children’s Minister will focus on that relational ministry. They will be present and active in the congregation and the community, deepening the relational connections among children, youth, and their families/caregivers. Other tasks, including planning and administration, will support the overall vision: Connecting children/youth powerfully with God and with each other, Engaging them in vibrant, transformative faith formation, and Deepening their faith through world-changing challenge and growth.
