Today we are insisting on a new social contract. A contract that holds the people charged with defending and protecting us accountable for their deeds and misdeeds. A contract that does not criminalize poverty. A contract that does not collude with detentions and deportations.

This year’s action will begin with a joint worship service at Humboldt Park United Methodist Church (2120 N. Mozart St.) beginning at 10:30am and ending by noon. Following a light lunch for those marching, there will be a street parade — a procession with palm branches and signs — ending on the east side of Palmer Square.
Las Posadas 2016: Action for Public & Affordable Housing in Logan Square
Finally, in the 35th ward, we may find the promise of “room at the inn” - housing justice and development that prioritizes people over profit. With this action, LSEA celebrates the hope of "room at the inn," even while we continue to demand full public/affordable housing justice.

On Sunday, March 20, 2016 members of Kimball Avenue Church, Nuestra Señora de las Americas, and St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Logan Square met for worship at Diversey River Bowl before a joint procession with palms to the Rally for Public Housing at Lathrop Homes.
