7th Annual "World's Largest Potluck"

Wicker Park Lutheran Church's Seventh Annual World’s Largest Potluck will be happening at the church on Saturday, September 24, from 6pm to 10pm. In addition an incredible array of delectable homemade dishes, the evening will feature a casserole contest, an Oreo stacking contest, special children’s activities (including music, face painting, and games), and dancing to the music of The Mashed Potatoes. In addition to food and fun, over 75 newly refreshed afghans from the Around the Coyote 2001 art installation will be available for purchase.

This year's Potluck will be (so to speak) an "ORGANic" one. As one of a very few tubular pneumatic organs still in use, our 1906 "Mighty Moeller" organ was recently designated a historically significant organ and will be used for a recital when the Historical Organ Society meets in Chicago in July 2012. While, after several years of disuse and rebuilding, the organ was playable on Labor Day 2004, the job of rebuilding was never completed. Proceeds from this year’s Potluck will be used to help complete the rebuilding of the organ. The sale of the afghans will benefit the ministries of Lutheran Social Services of Illinois.

The church is located at the corner of Hoyne and LeMoyne (1502 North Hoyne). The suggest donation for adults is $25 (includes two drink tickets) and $10 for students. Children under 5 are free.

You can make your reservation by calling or e-mailing Tammi  at 773-988-9657 or tfranke@fitzhewlaw.com and paying at the door.
