Food and wine will be served at the pre-concert lecture given at 6:45pm.The Chicago Bach Ensemble, led by conductor James Setapen, is a group of approximately forty musicians consisting of an orchestra, a vocal ensemble and organist. The ensemble was formed with the idea of presenting the sacred music of J.S. Bach in the space it was originally intended for --- a church – and to the people it was originally intended for – the community of that church. The composer faced many hardships during his life but always remained true to his desire for the ultimate light. His cantatas carry the expression of this desire. Please come and listen and be elevated.
