Isaiah: The Work of New Creation

Prophets often play the role of social critic pointing out the injustices and abuses of power that diminish the quality of life. But after the critique comes the work of reconstruction. For the next two weeks we will look at Isaiah, and focus especially on his vision of a new exodus and restoration. We will pay special attention to the Servant Songs as the divine modus operandi. Isaiah is sometimes referred to as the "Fifth Gospel", so we will also look at Isaiah's profound influence on the writers of the New Testament.
