Lessons on Vocation from Lutheran Liberation Theology with Ole Schenk
Lessons on Vocation from Lutheran Liberation Theology with Ole SchenkWednesday, February 10th at 8:30 p.m. on Zoom
Saved by grace through faith, through no works of our own. Saved by Christ's work for us and the power of the Holy Spirit. These are familiar core beliefs of Lutheran theology. What and how can they speak with a liberation theology tradition that understands working for justice as essential to Christian faith? Ole Schenk will offer some insights he felt changed him from the teachings of Brazilian theologian Vítor Westhelle, particularly as they relate to the topic of vocation. Ole's conviction is that vocation is a key meeting point between Lutheran and liberation themes. This event is co-hosted by St. Luke's and South Loop Campus Ministry.Click here to view/download Ole's article: “Westhelle and Vocation: Set Free to Cooperate in God’s Liberating Labor”Join us Wednesday, February 10th at 8:30 p.m. on ZoomCLICK HERE TO JOIN THE ZOOM MEETINGPhone: +1 312 626 6799 US (Chicago)Meeting ID: 823 4865 7997Passcode: 107957
