Annual Meeting Sunday, January 30th at 9:45 a.m.

Annual Congregational Meeting

from the St. Luke's Council

Dear friends,

Happy New Year! We give thanks that we are new creations in Jesus Christ and that we can begin each day of every year with hope, renewed faith and restored vision for the work that God calls us to do in the world. (ELCA Prayer Ventures)

Please mark your calendar for St. Lukes' all-congregation Annual Meeting. We will meet on Sunday, January 30 at 9:45am on Zoom.

The Annual Meeting is a once-a-year opportunity to gather and consider our mission alongside conducting the business of the church. We will elect new officers for Council, Financial Committee, and delegates to Synod Assembly. We will review and vote on the 2022 Budget. And we will consider suggested changes to our constitution (more on that below). Perhaps more importantly, we will celebrate our ministry from the past year and take up big questions about our life together. This year we plan to focus on how to align our values with our finances into the future.

With peace and thanksgiving,

St. Luke's Council

Katie Baxter, Gretchen Burch, Erika Dornfeld, Marit Johnson, Megan Moran, Justin Perkins

Note about constitutional changes

Every three years the ELCA Churchwide Assembly passes amendments to the constitutions of the ELCA, and congregations are asked to update their constitutions to align with the Model Constitution for Congregations. Many of the proposed amendments are for clarification. St. Luke's Council is also proposing that the congregation reverse Chapter 11 and 12 so that these chapters align with the Model Constitutions for Congregations. This will allow the congregation to more easily amend the constitution when the ELCA suggests new amendments. View the proposed amendments in the attached document. Questions about proposed amendments can be sent to Marit Johnson at marit.3.johnson@gmail.com.

Read St. Luke’s Annual Report!

Every year we collect stories and photos, reports and numbers to give a snapshot of our community's life over the last year. We hope you'll download, read, share, and pray as we celebrate 2021 and look with hope toward the year ahead!

Ways to read the 2021 Annual Report:

Reading the Annual Report is a great way to prepare for the Annual Meeting, which is coming up on Sunday, January 30 at 9:45 a.m. On the last page of the Annual Report you will find a link to the proposed 2022 line-item budget.
