Guidelines (Day Of):

  • Coats must be complete - no missing parts

  • Coats should be in excellent condition - no rips, tears, or stains

  • We reserve the right to reject donations that do not meet these criteria

  • Grace and St. Luke's cannot guarantee you will find a coat in your size or fit

  • This is a first come, first served event. Please be respectful to other swappers and only swap for what you need

  • Coats may be tried on at the event: wear something you can wear a coat over

  • Any unselected coats will be donated

  • Unused tickets can be given to someone else

Are we accepting adult and kids coats and other cold weather accessories (hats, gloves, etc)?
No, we are only accepting adults' and childrens' coats—no extra loose accessories.

If I have more people in my group than coats donated, can I still get coats for them?

You will only be allowed to exchange one ticket for one coat during the exchange from noon – 1 pm, but
you can return from 1 pm -2 pm to select coats without a ticket.

If I'm a ticket holder and I find a coat, but don't have enough tickets, can I put that coat on hold?

No, sorry. We wish we could, but since those helping are volunteers we don't feel comfortable asking those serving to reserve items for other folx.

    How will the exchange work?
Ticket holders will be allowed into the exchange on a first-come, first-serve basis on November 6th from noon – 1 pm. If busy, we will distribute a number per ticket-holder and will call a few numbers at a time to allow them into the exchange. From 1 pm -2 pm, the exchange will be open for non-ticket holders to shop.
Can we try on coats at the event?
Yes, but please wear something you can easily slip a coat over. There will not be changing rooms
available and you will not be allowed to remove a coat from the room without turning in your ticket.

If we exchange for a coat but decide we don’t want it, can we return it and exchange for another?
We encourage visitors to feel very secure about the coat they’ve chosen when leaving the exchange.
However, we will allow second swaps during the final 1 pm -2 pm hour if they decide they don’t want the
    coat they chose.
