Worship in August brings us tales of danger, drama, and adventure from the books of Genesis and Exodus. As we remember Jacob and Joseph, Jochebed and Miriam, we draw on the wisdom of their stories. These ancestors in faith were not perfect people. They lived complicated lives, and yet they are the ones through whom God worked. Their story is God's story. And as inheritors of this tradition, their story becomes our story, too.
