SECTS and the city

NOTE: Registration for this event has now closed.  Watch here for a report back sometime next week on what St. Luke's members learned and shared at this event...

SECTS and the city

Members of the Worship Committee will be attending a worship conference hosted by Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (1218 W. Addison Ave.) on Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 9am – 3pm titled “SECTS and the city” – and have extended an open invitation to the rest of the congregation to join them.  Read on for more information about the conference and how to sign up…

Why This Worship Conference?

While many mainline Protestant congregations are aging, what are young adults finding meaningful in the worship services of urban congregations with a high percentage of Generation X and Y?

Beginning with a brief overview of the central things that are the basis of Christian worship, and in light of today’s ecumenical context, this conference will bring together people from different congregations with diverse liturgical and musical expressions in hopes that our collective wisdom will help answer the above question which gave the conference birth.  And we expect it to stretch our views and appreciation of both worship and other members of the body of Christ.

St. Luke’s has already signed 5 people up for this conference, and we’re able to add additional participants at no additional cost.  If you’re interested in joining our delegation to the SECTS and the city workshop, please email Pastor Erik at your earliest convenience.
