Adult Education: Paul on Jesus, the Church, and Living in Community

Gain a foundational understanding of the key people, places, and events of the biblical narrative while building community and deepening faith." - Description of "The Greatest Story—Paul" in St. Luke's Fall/Winter 2012 Education ProgramI find the Story of Paul exciting because his letters are the earliest written documents we have following Christ's life.  Paul was writing letters to the small Christian communities that began in the wake of Jesus' death and resurrection.  While the four Gospels tell the story of Jesus' life and ministry, Paul's life and ministry focus on how we, as people following Christ, should live in community to fulfill Christ's mission for the earth.  The communities were dealing with very real, very human issues, and in that way these letters and Paul's ministry help us to reflect on our own lives and society.Our adult education/faith formation class, "The Greatest Story—Paul," will meet Sundays from October 7 through November 25, from 9:00 am—10:00 am at St. Luke's.  I will be leading the course together with St. Luke's member Cynthia Stengel.  Please join us!Jessica Palys is a third year seminarian at Chicago Theological Seminary and intern at St Luke's this year.For more faith formation opportunities, follow here.
