Join the LSEA in making a local impact!

Members of the LSEA's member congregations marching for high-quality affordable public housing at Lathrop Homes last December. The July Logan Square Ecumenical Alliance (LSEA) meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday, July 28th at 6:30pm.  St. Luke's (2649 N Francisco Ave) will host this month's gathering. At our last meeting we identified three local justice issues that are a high priority:

  • Housing Insecurity (Homelessness and Displacement)
  • Poverty (Wages and Income Inequality)
  • Education (School Closures and Funding Inequality)

In preparation for July 28th we've invited everyone to bring answers to the following questions:

  • If 2015 was the "Year of the Lord's Favor" (Isa 61:2, Luke 4:19) for Logan Square, how specifically would the lives of people experiencing one or more of these issues change or improve?
  • What actions might the Spirit of the Lord lead the LSEA to take to address one or more of these issues, start the change process, and engage our churches and the broader community? (Think as big or small as you like!)
  • Which issue do you believe the LSEA needs to address first? Why?
  • Is there any other social justice issue that you believe the LSEA should address in addition to these three? If so, what would that be?
