Pride 2016
The Pride Parade is almost here and we get to celebrate that ALL are welcome in this place!If you would like to join the Chicago Coalition of Welcoming Churches at the parade, please contact Claire in the church office. (office@stlukesLS.org) We NEED to be sure to be in touch with the leadership at the Chicago Coalition of Welcoming Churches to let them know if we are coming so they can plan and prepare appropriately.Also, please take a look below for important information and open the link at the bottom of this post for further details.Below is some details for the weekend and ways you can get involved.
Pride Parade Weekend
Friday, Time TBA: Volunteers needed to help load The Night Ministry Van, which we are using for our contingent this year. Contact John at cheung.john@sbcglobal.net or 847-421-3741.Saturday, 2pm Join Brent, Mike and Christine at Dyke March in Humboldt Park. We’re sponsoring a table. Contact brent@chicagowelcomingchurches.org.Sunday, 10am Join Volunteers Setting Up Signs, Van, Parade Worship etc.
Our site is #56, East Side of Broadway, South of Wilson. Please arrive as early as possible for helping and fellowshiping. Look for CCWC Parade Committee Name Tags for Orientation. Pick up your church sign – and other Orlando and CCWC signs we need you to carry – before 11:45 and after 12pm. READ ATTACHED FAQS THOROUGHLY AND SHARE WITH ALL PARTICIPANTS.
11:45am Dedication Service, led by Holy Covenant UMC Planners. Moment of Silence for Orlando at 11:59am.
Parade Kick-Off @ Noon. Additional volunteers are needed for Orlando Solidarity. You can sign up HERE.
Stay Safe and Help Us Do Our Part! Note: Due to new requirements about keeping pace with Parade, we urge attendees who may not be up for the full pace for all 4 miles to plan ahead to join us for part of route and to depart at one of the exit points. Visit Parade Site for more info.
